Miranda Selwood ~ Singer Actor Dancer

Miranda Selwood completed 10 years at the Julie-Ann Lucas School of Dance before moving to Mackay to complete a Bachelor of Music Theatre at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music.  Miranda gained skills and experience in numerous productions and endeavours while at university, the highlight of which was playing Kate in Kiss Me, Kate directed by Nancye Hayes. Following university she performed in A Swell Party, The Rocky Horror Show and Carousel in Brisbane, and travelled the world as Cruise Staff with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Returning to Brisbane she launched her own company, Mirthful Productions, directing and performing in Closer Than Ever.  More recently she has directed I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and Avenue Q for the Brisbane Arts Theatre, where she also holds the Executive seat of Treasurer, and has appeared as Miss Adelaide in Blue Fish Theatrical’s Guys and Dolls, Eliza Doolittle in Savoyard’s My Fair Lady and Mrs Lovett in Ignatians’ Sweeney Todd. Most recently she was seen as Pennywise in Underground Productions’ Urinetown and Reno Sweeney in Savoyards’ Anything Goes. Miranda has a true appreciation for the pure joy of the Broadway Musical and a special place in her heart for 42nd Street (the movie, the musical and the place!)
